On Friday, 19 September 2014, the Federal Council of Germany will vote on whether Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Macedonia constitute “safe countries of origin”.
If this is the case, individuals seeking asylum can be deported by default. This is not only contrary to the idea of individual assessment but also would constitute a blank provision in danger of human rights violations.
